The Collection of Texts on the Calendar is a compilation of collected commentaries, treatises, tables and diagrams concerning the calendar. It provided guidelines for feast days, saints’ observances, and church festivals, aligning the liturgical year with biblical events and theological principles. The texts contributed to the refining of the Armenian calendar system, addressing discrepancies and ensuring alignment with both local traditions and broader Christian practices. The collection of texts served the purpose of religious guidance for clergy and laypeople to follow proper liturgical observances. This work was essential for ecclesiastical unity and the perseverance of the church’s identity in medieval Armenia. Compiled by order of Abbot T'ovma Medsop'etsi and Hakob Ghrimetsʻi, both Armenian scholars, in 1416 during the Turkish-Mongol domination.
